For forwarders in Saudi Arabia
Freight forwarding software for Saudi forwarders, and what it does not do yet
The answer to the first question comes first: CargoSharks does not issue ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoices. What it does do is run enquiries, quotes, job files, documents and job costing in Arabic first, in riyals, on a database hosted in Saudi Arabia if you choose.

01 · ZATCA
The ZATCA question, answered plainly
Under Phase 2, a tax invoice is a structured XML document with a QR code and a cryptographic stamp, integrated with ZATCA’s Fatoora platform. CargoSharks does not generate that document. Each invoice line already carries its tax treatment and rate, so the data is in the right shape, but the Saudi format and the integration are not built and have no ship date.
- What that means in practice. Tax invoices keep coming from your ZATCA-compliant system. CargoSharks can run everything before the invoice and the costing behind it, and exports a journal of the period your accountant can import.
- Who that suits. A forwarder whose pain is the enquiry, the quote and the job file. A forwarder who needs one system that also issues the tax invoice should not buy this yet.
02 · What works
What a Saudi desk can use today
- Arabic first. Every screen, document and email template in Arabic and English, laid out right to left rather than mirrored. When a customer writes in Arabic, the assistant answers in Arabic.
- Enquiries and quotes. WhatsApp and email in one queue with a clock, quotes priced from your own rate cards, and rate requests to your agents read back into rates you can price from.
- Riyals and dollars. SAR alongside every other currency, with each charge line keeping its own exchange rate and the moment it was taken.
- Hosted in the Kingdom. Your own database, hosted in Saudi Arabia if you choose, under your own brand.

The boundary
What it does not do in Saudi Arabia
All of this is stated in the contract as well as here.
- ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicingNo XML invoice, QR code, cryptographic stamp or Fatoora integration. On the roadmap with no ship date.
- Customs filingDeclarations are not filed to the Saudi customs platform. They are tracked on the job, and your broker files.
- Live carrier trackingBuilt for Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM, and it runs on your own carrier API credentials. Until you hold them, milestones are entered by your team.
- Accounting connectorsNo direct connector to a specific accounting package in this release. A journal of the period’s invoices, receipts, supplier bills and payments exports in a form your accountant can import.
Is CargoSharks ZATCA compliant?
No. It does not generate Phase 2 e-invoices or integrate with Fatoora, and we do not claim otherwise. Keep issuing tax invoices from your compliant system.
Then why would a Saudi forwarder use it?
For the work before the invoice: WhatsApp and email enquiries in one queue, quotes from your own rates, job files with milestones and free-time clocks, and documents in Arabic. If that is where your time goes, it is worth a look; if it is not, it is not.
Can it be hosted in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Saudi Arabia is one of the included hosting regions, alongside the UAE and the EU.
Does it handle SAR?
Yes, as one currency among the others, with per-line exchange rates and decimal money throughout.
